Welcome to Kindergarten

Picture
My name is Ms. McClendon. I will be your Kindergarten teacher this year! I am so excited to meet all of my students and their parents at open house on August 6th. All students will have an opportunity to see our classroom and participate in a scavenger hunt around the classroom! This will allow the students to find their way around their new class. Parents, please note that you may bring in school supplies on the day of open house. It seems to allow parents to have one less thing to worry about on the first day of school and it gives us a chance to organize the materials.

Get to know your teacher! I am originally from Wisconsin. I moved to Georgia in 1997 and I attended Roswell High School. I participated in a lot of sports as a child, but volleyball is my favorite. After high school I attended Valdosta State University to obtain my degree in Early Childhood Education. Teaching Kindergarten has been very rewarding and I look forward to this year. See you soon!

Mrs. Zimmer

Our students are lucky enough to have two teachers! Mrs. Zimmer is my assistant and will be in our classroom everyday! She will assist in all subject areas and allow our students to receive more small group instruction.

Get to know your teacher! I am married to Seth.  I have 2 children both of whom graduated from Hembree Springs.  Megan is 15 and will be a sophomore at Milton High School.  Danny is 12 and is a 7th grader at Northwestern Middle School.  I started at Hembree as a parent volunteer.  I soon became a substitute teacher and then an assistant.  This will be the start of my 6th year at the school.  I have a Bichon-Poo dog named Ozzy.  My hobbies include reading (of course!), cooking, and tennis.  I love to travel with my family whenever we can.
